70 years ago, when the Dien Bien Phu Campaign entered its decisive phase, Hill A1 was the site of the fiercest battles. Today, this relic has become a tourist attraction attracting thousands of people.
Hill A1 is a fortified stronghold (the French called it Eliane 2) belonging to the system of defensive heights in the East of the central sub-sector of the Dien Bien Phu stronghold group.

The battle at Hill A1 lasted for 39 days and nights, starting from the afternoon of March 30, 1954. We and the enemy fought for every inch of land and every trench while the enemy continuously counterattacked.
