Pedagogy students "burn" lesson plans, students are angry with each other...
Although she had practiced in the lecture hall, student Thanh Thu (primary education major, Saigon University, Ho Chi Minh City) said she was extremely nervous when standing in front of the class.
"I was so nervous that I stumbled over my words and kept staring at my lesson plan, hoping the class would pass quickly because I was so scared. Afterwards, my instructor commented that I should speak more slowly and reminded me to look at my lesson plan carefully," the female student humorously recounted.
Besides, Thu often "burns" her lesson plans, teaches 4 periods, finishes 2 periods late, the remaining 2 periods are 5-10 minutes early, or "laughs and cries" when students get angry with each other during the trial period.

"One day I tried to teach a math class, instructing the students on the activities in the class, but then two students got into an argument, fighting over who was writing on the board. The boy was so angry that he turned his chair to look at the door. At that time, I was surprised and didn't know how to handle it, but thinking back, I found it very cute because the children's behavior was so innocent," Thu shared.
During her internship on March 8 at Tran Danh Lam Primary School (District 8, Ho Chi Minh City), the female student also received gifts from her students for the first time.
"The class I was responsible for was class 4/1, which had the largest number of students in grade 4. I think I had only been in school for nearly a month so the students didn't have much affection for me. However, on that day, the students gave me flowers, one of them even drew a picture for me and I still have it. The first time I received a gift from a student, I was very touched because I thought they had recognized me as a real teacher," Thu recalled.
Gifts filled with innocent feelings from students to teachers
Assigned to teach grade 2, Ha My (a student majoring in primary education at Saigon University) "unwillingly" fell into a situation where her students were angry.
"Once, the teacher asked me to teach a Vietnamese lesson. The students were very enthusiastic about raising their hands to speak, but because the whole class raised their hands, I couldn't invite everyone. One student got very angry and stood up and left his seat. I was surprised and didn't understand what was happening, but then I went down to ask and gently explain to him. He listened, which made me very happy," My shared.
Bao Ngoc (a student majoring in primary education at Saigon University) said that the most unforgettable memory was teaching spelling but forgetting how to spell correctly.

"I taught students reading lessons and needed to list difficult words. When a student read a word, I suddenly forgot how to spell it correctly on the board. I looked at the teacher and she had to show me. It was really the most awkward situation. From then on, I often took on teaching Vietnamese lessons and thanks to that, I gained more experience," Bao Ngoc recalled.
"Staying in this profession is also thanks to the affection of students"
The female student said that when she went to elementary school, other student teachers were surrounded by children like idols. On normal days, they also received gifts such as candy, toys, and stickers from students in their class and other classes, so "every day at school was a happy day."
"On the first day of class, although the teacher and student only briefly greeted each other, when I left, I received a letter from a student. The content of the letter was just a simple, pure confession of feelings, but I found it very cute, erasing the pressure I imagined when doing an internship. The instructor told us that staying in the profession was also motivated by the feelings of the students. After going through the internship, I believe that is true," said Bao Ngoc.

Respect for teachers
Being guided by the instructor, Bao Ngoc expressed her gratitude and respect. "When I was in class, even though I spoke incorrectly, the instructor still respected me, did not interrupt me but corrected me when the lesson was finished. Unlike her serious appearance, she always supported and cared for her student teachers. There was a day when my math lesson preparation was not perfect, but she did not get angry but enthusiastically corrected the plan and gave advice," Ngoc shared.
Ha My also said that the biggest difficulty is classroom management, sometimes the children do their own things, talk, and argue during group activities, making the class noisy. After teaching, I understand and really admire the ability of primary school teachers to grasp children's psychology and flexibly handle arising situations.
