Also at MWC 2024 (Mobile World Congress) taking place in Barcelona (Spain), Honor launched the Magic 6 Pro smartphone for the international market.

Here, Honor demonstrated eye movement control technology on the Magic 6 Pro. The phone uses the front camera, combined with artificial intelligence (AI) to determine where the user's eyes are looking.

One of the applications is car control, illustrated with four command buttons: Start engine, stop engine, forward and reverse. In the video, a person looks at one of the four buttons and the car moves forward.

There's no word yet on whether the feature will come to an official car manufacturer, but Honor is introducing the technology on smartphones to compete with other AI phones.

Honor is actually a subsidiary of Huawei, which was sold in 2020 to comply with US sanctions. Since then, the brand has launched many products, including flip phones aimed at the high-end segment. In China, Honor is the fourth brand in terms of market share, but is not well known globally.

One of the features that will be available on the international version of the Magic 6 Pro is the ability to open an app just by looking at the screen. When a notification appears at the top of the screen, users can open the app by directing their eyes to the exact location.

In addition, not to be left out of the AI trend that is the focus of MWC, the Chinese company also introduced a concept chatbot, developed based on Meta's Llama2 model. The demonstration video shows the chatbot suggesting activities to users while in Barcelona and even composing a poem about MWC.
