New era courage, for a strong Vietnam

In 2025, the country celebrates the 80th anniversary of National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025). This is a historical milestone for every Vietnamese citizen to look back on the journey of building and defending the country, from hardship to today's brilliant achievements.

Here, not only introducing the history of the formation and development of a central administrative agency, this exhibition also recreates the story of 80 years of accompanying the nation, from the early days of nation building, through two great resistance wars, the period of national unification and reconstruction, to the cause of Renovation and international integration.

Comprehensive and in-depth introduction to the 80-year history of formation and development of the Government Office . Emphasizing its role as an advisory body, effectively assisting the Government and the Prime Minister through each historical period.

Through exhibits, images, videos, clips and stories on display, the aim is to arouse national pride, educate patriotic traditions and strengthen people's trust in the leadership of the Party and State.

The highlight of the Government Office's exhibition booth at the "National Achievements Exhibition on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of National Day" will contribute to enriching the content, affirming the role of administrative institutions in the brilliant development of the country.

This is also a deep gratitude to generations of officials and civil servants of the Government Office who have silently devoted themselves to building a professional, modern administration serving the people.

The exhibition on the Government Office affirms the continuous development and constant innovation of the Government Office, from a wartime agency to a modern digital administrative agency, reflecting the development of a creative, honest, decisive and people-serving Government.

From the foundation of nation building…

The exhibition booth's content is about the history and achievements of the Government Office in the country's history and the general achievements of the Vietnamese Government, from 1945 to present.

During the period (1945 - 1954), the story tells about the birth of a special support agency, right in the early days of the founding of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, facing countless difficulties from internal and external enemies. The Government Office, together with President Ho Chi Minh and the Government, built a solid foundation for national independence.

The Government Office advised and helped the Government draft and promulgate the first Decrees, such as the Decree on Government Organization and the Decree on General Elections, contributing to building the legal foundation for the young Vietnamese State.

Ensuring the smooth operation of the Government during the resistance war. Valuable documents on secret administrative work, safe agency relocation, preparations for negotiations and signing of the 1954 Geneva Agreement on the cessation of hostilities and restoration of peace in Indochina; or important directives serving the Dien Bien Phu Campaign will be the highlights of the exhibition.

In the process of national construction, the Government Office contributed to important initial policies such as universal education, demonstrating close ties with the work of consolidating the government and caring for people's lives.

Phase 2 (1954 - 1975) with the theme "Frontline of copper citadel, rear of steel ramparts - For the unification of the country" , the exhibition booth highlights the role of the Government Office in building a strong socialist North, becoming a great rear for the frontline of the South, towards the goal of national liberation and national unification.

During this period, the Government Office advised the Government to build and implement socio-economic development plans, ensuring production and life, helping the North become a "steel rear" supporting the South.

In the context of the fierce destructive war of the US, the Government Office ensured the continuous and uninterrupted direction of the Government. Documents, letters, telegrams... demonstrated determination and creativity in wartime conditions to promptly convey important instructions, especially during the historic Ho Chi Minh Campaign.

The exhibition will highlight the quiet but effective contributions of the Government Office in preparing and synthesizing battlefield information to advise the Government on strategic decisions, leading to the Great Victory of Spring 1975, unifying the country.

Reconstruction and finding ways to innovate

Phase 3 (1975 - 1986) with the theme Reconstruction and nation building - For happiness and prosperity , the exhibition focuses on the efforts of the Government Office and the entire political system in unifying the country administratively, overcoming the consequences of war and gradually finding a path of innovation, towards a prosperous and happy life for the people.

The Government Office at that time played a key role in advising and helping the Government reorganize the state administrative apparatus nationwide, ensuring smooth leadership and administration, and removing the barriers of division between the two regions.

To restore and develop the economy, the Government Office has helped the Government draft and promulgate policies to restore production, rebuild infrastructure and solve post-war social problems, contributing to stabilizing people's lives.

In the final stage, the Government Office actively advised the Government on new economic experimental policies and guidelines, paving the way for the Renovation process at the 6th Party Congress (1986).

Phase 4 from 1986 to present, with the theme of Innovation and Integration - For a bright future, the exhibition will tell about the impressive journey of contributions of the Government Office in the process of Innovation, international integration, building a professional and modern administration, contributing to making Vietnam a "bright" country with a position in the international arena.

This is the period when VPVP makes an important contribution to the construction and completion of market economic mechanisms and policies, administrative procedure reform, creating momentum for the remarkable development of the Vietnamese economy.

Pioneering e-Government and digital Government, the Government Office has been proactive and at the forefront of applying information technology to direction, administration, and building the Government Electronic Information Portal and the electronic Government Office system, towards digital Government, helping management work become more effective and transparent.

The Government Office has played an important role in preparing contents and documents for working trips and foreign affairs activities of Government leaders, contributing to the success of the integration process and the signing of important trade agreements.

In phase 5 (2020-2025), the theme of the Rising Era - a strong and prosperous Vietnam, is a period marking the country's strong transformation when overcoming many unprecedented challenges: Covid-19 pandemic, geopolitical tensions, climate change, global supply chain disruptions...

In that context, thoroughly grasping the direction of the Party and Government, closely following the spirit of the action theme "Discipline - Responsibility - Professionalism - Innovation - Efficiency", the Government Office constantly innovates working methods, improves the quality and progress of consultation, promptly and effectively serves the direction and administration of the Government and the Prime Minister.

80 years of service

In the 80-year history of the Vietnamese people, when Independence, Freedom and Happiness are sacred aspirations, the Government Office has always been the most effective and dedicated advisory and support agency of the Government.

The exhibition at the National Achievements Exhibition this time not only recreates the history of the formation and development of an administrative agency, but also tells the story of a long journey of silent dedication, accompanying the country through each historical milestone.

Eight decades have passed, the Government Office has remained steadfast on its journey to serve the country. From hardship to glorious moments, from the first documents of the Provisional Government to the modern digital operating system, the Government Office has always been present at the forefront, connecting the ideals of Independence, Freedom, and Happiness with each specific policy and action.

At the National Achievements Exhibition, the story of 80 years of companionship of the Government Office is told through the language of images, artifacts and technology, so that every citizen who walks through this exhibition booth can feel: Behind every great decision of the Government, there is always the mark of a dedicated, loyal and intelligent collective of the Government Office.
