After more than 20 days of official release, the movie Tunnels: Sun in the Dark directed by Bui Thac Chuyen has created a strong impact on audiences of many generations. Thanks to the love of the public, the movie has become the most supported war-themed movie ever.
Director Bui Thac Chuyen and investors decided to launch a special version of Tunnels: Sun in the Dark - built on the love and sincere feedback and contributions from the audience since the film's premiere.
“ This new directorial version is a special and sincere thank you from the director and investors to all audiences across the country who have loved and supported the film Tunnels: Sun in the Dark over the past time ,” the crew representative shared.
The new version of "Tunnel" has adjusted some details to clarify what the audience wondered.
The new version changes and adds slices of everyday life, new details about guerrillas, and life in the tunnels. In addition, some details are adjusted to clarify some questions the audience has; thanks to that, this new version has a more coherent progression.
From there, the war story can be told again in a simple, emotional way, but also clearer, more coherent and closer than ever.
Tunnels: Sun in the Dark is set in Cu Chi in 1967 - a time when this land of steel became the target of fierce sweeps by the US army. At Binh An Dong base, Bay Theo and his 21-man guerilla team were assigned to protect the field hospital's medicine warehouse, but their primary mission was to protect the strategic intelligence group led by Hai Thung who was hiding there.
The radio signal was detected, meaning they were forced into a life-or-death situation by fierce raids by the US military.
For more than 120 minutes, Tunnels: Sun in the Dark realistically recreates the resilient and resourceful people's war of the Southern army and people in the tunnels during the resistance years.
The new version of the film promises to retain the authentic spirit and inherent artistry, but increase emotional depth with everyday, familiar details, blending into the atmosphere towards the 50th Anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025).
