Denmark practice penalty shootout before meeting Germany in Euro 2024 round of 16

According to BT (Denmark), the Danish team has practiced penalty shootouts since the gathering in March and they will practice more before the match against Germany in the round of 16 of Euro 2024.

Denmark coach Kasper Hjulmand asked his players to take the penalty kick seriously, focusing on staying calm before kicking, how to place the ball and focusing on the final finishing move.

Striker Jonas Wind revealed that the Danish team has been practicing penalty shootouts a lot over the past month. "The team practiced extra before the match against Germany. It would be bad if we were not well prepared for this option, both mentally and technically," Wind told Danish media.

Wind believes that in penalty shootouts, all players have to endure pressure and psychological training for this situation is very necessary.

Meanwhile, assistant coach Christian Poulsen affirmed: "There is always an element of luck in penalty shootouts, but the Danish team limits the risk by practicing."

The last time Denmark had to take a penalty shootout was against Croatia in the round of 16 of the 2018 World Cup. The match between Denmark and Germany will take place at 2am on June 30 (Vietnam time). Germany is considered to be the better team with a scientific and methodical style of play, but Denmark will likely cause difficulties for the home team.

Host Germany really had a hard time when facing a team with a similar playing style in the group stage, Switzerland.
