On the afternoon of March 26 in Hanoi, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense held a ceremony to honor outstanding young faces and promising young faces of the entire army in 2023 on the occasion of the 93rd anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2024).

Attending the ceremony were General Luong Cuong - Politburo member, member of the Central Military Commission, Director of the General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army; Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang and Mr. Bui Quang Huy - First Secretary of the Central Youth Union.

The 10 outstanding young faces and 35 promising young faces of the entire army were voted as outstanding examples, representing hundreds of thousands of youth union members in the entire army in fields such as training, combat readiness and combat, study, scientific research, labor, production and business, culture, literature and art, journalism, sports...

Among them, Captain Vu Van Cuong - captain of the drug and crime prevention team, Pa Thom Border Guard Station (now deputy head of professional station, Si Pha Phin Border Guard Station, Dien Bien Provincial Border Guard) was voted as a typical young Vietnamese face and two individuals as promising young Vietnamese faces in 2023.

On behalf of the Central Military Commission Standing Committee and the leaders of the Ministry of National Defense, General Luong Cuong commended the achievements of the army's youth and 45 outstanding young faces and promising faces of the entire army in 2023.

To promote the role of youth and Youth Union work in the army, the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of National Defense require Party committees, political commissars, political officers, and commanders of political agencies at all levels to continue to pay attention to leading, directing, and effectively organizing the implementation of Youth Union work and youth movements, and to deeply perceive that Youth Union work and youth movements are important leadership contents of Party committees at all levels.

At the same time, take care to properly resolve the legitimate aspirations of Youth Union cadres, members, and youth; organize and effectively implement the planning, training, and fostering of Youth Union cadres and cadres in charge of youth work to supplement the source of young cadres in the army.

The General also requested agencies and units throughout the army to direct and organize well revolutionary youth action movements, creating an environment for cadres, union members and youth to practice in practice, contributing to the excellent completion of political tasks of each agency and unit.

Along with that is the innovation of content and form of activities in a focused and key direction, concentrating on difficult and complicated tasks, weak links and weak aspects, replicating good models, good and creative ways of doing things, typical and advanced examples in all fields of work, creating diffusion and setting examples in agencies, units and the entire army.

On this occasion, the Minister of National Defense decided to recruit cadres, confer officer rank on one individual, promote two individuals ahead of schedule, and raise salary ahead of schedule for one individual.

The General Department of Politics of the Vietnam People's Army has directed agencies and units to reserve achievements as a basis for considering early promotion of four officers, salary increase for a professional soldier, and priority assignment of work upon graduation for a student.

The Minister of National Defense also decided to award certificates of merit to 10 outstanding young faces and the Director of the General Department of Politics awarded certificates of merit to 35 promising young faces of the entire army in 2023.
