At the 10th Congress of the Vietnamese Students' Association in the UK (SVUK), term 2024-2026 from December 7-8, the new President of SVUK pledged to further promote volunteer activities and encourage talent.

The Vietnamese Students' Association in the UK (SVUK) will strengthen connections, further promote student activities in the host country, especially volunteer activities and encourage student talents, while promoting the digitalization of work processes to improve the Association's operational efficiency.

The above commitment was made by new SVUK President Cao Quoc Dung at the 10th Congress of the Vietnamese Students' Association in the UK, term 2024-2026, taking place in London on December 7 and 8.

Attending the Congress were Vietnamese Ambassador to the UK Do Minh Hung, Permanent Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Students' Association Ho Hong Nguyen, and representatives of Vietnamese student associations across the UK.

The Congress evaluated the performance of SVUK in the 2022-2024 term, in which the Association achieved many encouraging results, maintaining connections, supporting and encouraging the development of the Vietnamese student community in the UK through communication channels and the network of 46 affiliated student associations (Vietsoc) at universities and colleges across the UK.

The Congress also set out key directions and tasks for the 2024-2026 term, focusing on maintaining and expanding student-oriented activities, promoting activities and raising awareness and skills for students.

The Congress elected the Executive Committee for the 2024-2026 term, consisting of 17 members, headed by Chairman Cao Quoc Dung, and established an advisory board of 5 members, former members of the secretariat of previous terms, to support the new Executive Committee in orienting and managing the Association's activities.

Speaking at the Congress, Ambassador Do Minh Hung emphasized that SVUK needs to promote innovation in its activities, towards the “era of national development” as General Secretary To Lam said. The Ambassador updated the activities to promote and boost educational and training cooperation between Vietnam and the UK, affirming that the Vietnamese Embassy in the UK always values ​​and supports student activities.

Attending the Congress online, Permanent Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Students' Association Ho Hong Nguyen affirmed that the Party and State always put their full trust in the young generation, considering them the core force in shaping the future and destiny of the nation.

Ms. Ho Hong Nguyen emphasized that in the new term, SVUK needs to promote academic activities and scientific research, encourage students to participate in research and build a network of young intellectuals.

Introducing the Congress, new SVUK President Cao Quoc Dung shared that the Vietnamese student community in the UK is like an extension of the family and homeland, pledging to devote himself to building a more cohesive and developed Vietnamese student community, thereby indirectly contributing to the homeland and country.

SVUK is the official organization representing more than 14,000 Vietnamese students living and working in the UK, and is a bridge connecting Vietsocs nationwide. Since 2014, SVUK has been officially recognized as a member of the Vietnam Student Association. In 2018, SVUK received a certificate of merit from the Minister of Foreign Affairs for its contributions to student affairs./.
