Top Japanese university expands admission to Vietnamese international students

Kyushu University, one of the top five public universities in Japan, plans to expand training and accept Vietnamese international students.

During his official visit to Japan, on November 30, President Vo Van Thuong visited Kyushu University in Fukuoka province and talked with outstanding Vietnamese students there.

Upon learning that Kyushu University planned to expand training and accept Vietnamese international students, the President welcomed and suggested that the school promote cooperation with universities and localities in Vietnam in training and improving the quality of human resources.

The President also expressed his delight at the outstanding achievements in studying and researching of Vietnamese students at the school. He asked the students to strive to improve their knowledge and experience, unite, support and care for each other, and together build a strong Vietnamese community in Japan, becoming a bridge for Vietnam-Japan relations.

In addition, the President visited the International Hydrogen Energy Research Center, one of the world's leading facilities in this field. The center specializes in implementing key projects, collaborating with many large Japanese companies to implement research projects on Hydrogen. Dr. Pham Hung Cuong is the only Vietnamese working and researching here.

Kyushu University is one of the top 5 public universities in Japan. With a history of over 110 years, the university has many leading research departments that are funded by the Japanese government every year. It currently has more than 18,500 students, 2,000 faculty members and 2,500 international students, studying a wide range of fields, from humanities and arts to engineering and medical sciences.

Among them are 53 Vietnamese masters and doctoral students, one associate professor and two assistant professors.

According to information on the website, undergraduate and graduate tuition fees at Kyushu University are currently around 535,000-800,000 yen (88-132 million VND) a year.
