Specifically, the defendants who filed appeals include: Hoang Thi Thuy Nga (former Chairwoman of NSJ Company Limited); 3 defendants who are former leaders and officials at the Quang Ninh Department of Education and Training, including: Vu Lien Oanh (former Director of the Department); Ngo Vui (former Head of the Planning and Finance Department); Ha Huy Long (former Deputy Head of the Planning and Finance Department) all filed appeals.

Defendant Vu Lien Oanh appealed the entire content of the verdict and requested the appellate court to consider and resolve the issue to ensure the defendant's rights and interests. Defendants Ngo Vui and Ha Huy Long also appealed for a reduction in their sentences.
Defendant Hoang Thi Thuy Nga appealed, requesting the appellate court to clarify the scope of the case. According to defendant Nga, the content of the verdict was not the same as what happened at the trial.
In addition, defendant Nga said that during the debate, the People's Procuracy held a document to look at the data and said that defendant Nga imported it for 200 USD, equivalent to 5.5 million VND, but when sold to the Department of Education and Training, it was 1.9 billion VND.
Defendant Ngo Vui, former Head of Planning and Finance Department (Quang Ninh Department of Education and Training) also filed an appeal.
"I did not know this document during the investigation, nor was I allowed to see it at the trial. I affirm that there was no arbitrary price increase in the company," the defendant Nga's appeal stated; at the same time, the defendant Nga also requested clarification of this document from the prosecution agency.
In addition to the above content, defendant Hoang Thi Thuy Nga also said that there was not enough basis to charge the defendant with bribery; the calculation of damages in the case based on data in the USB provided by defendant Ngo Manh Hung was illegal...
Defendant Nga requested the court to consider allowing the defendant to remedy all damages of the case, if any, correctly and fully calculated according to the provisions of law; not to declare other defendants to bear civil liability as the court of first instance had declared.
As Thanh Nien reported, on October 17, the People's Court of Quang Ninh province sentenced defendant Hoang Thi Thuy Nga to 20 years in prison for two crimes: violating bidding regulations causing serious consequences; and giving bribes.
