Speaking at the ceremony, Secretary General of the National Assembly and Head of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong said that following the successful hosting of the 132nd Inter-Parliamentary Union Assembly (IPU-132) (2015), the 26th Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum (APPF) (2016) and the 41st ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA) (2020), in 2023, the Vietnamese National Assembly will host the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians, from September 14-17 in Hanoi.

This is the key multilateral foreign affairs event of the National Assembly, and also one of the major multilateral diplomatic events of our country this year. This multilateral diplomatic event has received the attention of the Politburo, the Party Delegation of the National Assembly and the support of IPU member parliaments. In addition, the Conference is also an opportunity to promote the image of Vietnam in general and the Vietnamese National Assembly in particular to international friends.

Secretary General of the National Assembly, Chairman of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong stated that the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians has the theme The role of youth in promoting the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals through digital transformation and innovation , thematic discussion sessions will focus on 3 contents: Digital transformation; Entrepreneurship and innovation; Promoting cultural diversity for sustainable development.

These are all current world issues of interest to the IPU, the Parliaments of member countries and young parliamentarians; demonstrating Vietnam's substantial contribution in content, ensuring harmony between Vietnam's interests and the common interests of the region and the world, while promoting bilateral and multilateral cooperation between young Vietnamese National Assembly deputies, Vietnamese youth and young parliamentarians and youth of other countries.

This important event will continue to contribute to affirming the active, responsible and proactive participation of the Vietnamese National Assembly in the world's largest inter-parliamentary organization, the IPU.

Secretary General of the National Assembly, Head of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong added that, in carrying out the assigned tasks in Resolution No. 766/NQ-UBTVQH15 dated April 12, 2023 of the National Assembly Standing Committee, the Organizing Committee of the 9th Global Young Parliamentarians' Conference has deployed and concretized the contents and activities taking place at the Conference, ensuring the correct orientation and foreign policy of the Party, especially on strengthening multilateral diplomacy, Resolution No. 22-NQ/TW of the Politburo on international integration and Directive No. 25-CT/TW of the Secretariat on promoting and enhancing multilateral diplomacy by 2030.

With the motto of Friendship, Respect, Care, Safety, Saving and Efficiency , the Conference Organizing Committee has approved the Overall Project on the preparation and organization of the Conference; the Sub-Committees and the National Secretariat have developed detailed Projects, specific implementation plans, and synchronously implemented the preparation work. In particular, one of the important initial activities is to build the logo, identity and website of the Conference.

Emphasizing that the development of the logo, identity and website once again affirms Vietnam's active, responsible and proactive participation in organizing major IPU events. The initiative to organize the ceremony to announce the logo, identity and website before the Conference also received high appreciation from the international community and the IPU.

In order for the use of the logo, identity and website of the Conference to be truly effective, becoming an effective communication tool to the domestic and international public, Secretary General of the National Assembly, Head of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong requested the Subcommittees and the National Secretariat to coordinate closely, closely follow the orientation in the Project, use the identity for the right purpose and operate the website for assigned tasks.

On this occasion, Secretary General of the National Assembly and Head of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong requested press agencies to support the Organizing Committee of the 9th Global Conference of Young Parliamentarians in communicating and reporting fully, richly and vividly about the event, especially demonstrating the thoughtful preparation and hospitality of the host country Vietnam.

Expressing his belief that with the participation of hundreds of young parliamentarians from 173 member countries, and a rich agenda during the 3-day Conference, there will be a lot of material for reporters to exploit and convey many messages of the Conference to international friends; at the same time, it is also a great opportunity to introduce Vietnam to many friends around the world.

At the ceremony, delegates watched a video presentation introducing the logo and identity, the trailer of the Global Young Parliamentarians' Conference and a video introducing the official website of the 9th Global Young Parliamentarians' Conference.
