On July 14, the Investigation Police Agency, Binh Duong Provincial Police announced that it had detained Dang Quoc Huy (born in 1986; residing in Chau Thanh district, Tay Ninh province) to investigate and clarify the act of "Fraudulent appropriation of property".

According to the initial investigation, around January 2024, Ms. HN's husband was being prosecuted and temporarily detained by the Investigation Police Agency of Binh Duong Province on charges of "Murder". After her husband was arrested, through the introduction of friends, Ms. HN went to Tay Ninh City, Tay Ninh Province to meet Huy to ask for permission for Ms. HN to meet her husband and complete the procedures to request bail for her husband to be released on bail.

During the meeting, Dang Quoc Huy introduced himself as having connections with many high-ranking officials who could take care of Ms. N.'s affairs. Therefore, Huy repeatedly asked Ms. N. to transfer money to his personal account, totaling more than 700 million VND, to take care of Ms. N.'s husband's release on bail.

However, after receiving the money transfer from Ms. N., Dang Quoc Huy did not carry out the agreement but appropriated the entire amount for personal use. At the same time, he blocked all contacts with Ms. N. and left his residence.

At the investigation agency, Dang Quoc Huy said he worked as a real estate broker and admitted all his crimes.
