At the same time, Dr. Truong Hong Son proposed a solution: Instead of eliminating or reducing, consumers need to replace harmful fat sources with beneficial fat sources found in deep-sea fish and vegetable oils such as brown rice oil, sunflower oil, and soybean oil. "This will be the key to solving this problem," Dr. Son affirmed.

In fact, many Vietnamese consumers, when asked about their fat and cooking oil consumption habits, have the same concerns as Ms. Thai Kieu Ngan (42 years old), a housewife living in Ho Chi Minh City in the report: "Limit consumption of fatty meat, animal organs, and even limit fried and stir-fried dishes. But I don't know if it's right to do so. I only use vegetable oil for cooking, but I really don't know which type is good, so I only use it in moderation." Or many people will decide to choose vegetable oil based on their feelings, based on price and promotions.

In particular, Dr. Son noted that not all cooking oils are the same, the difference comes from the ingredients, so this issue should be noted when choosing.
"Currently, in the world, WHO and prestigious health organizations such as FDA, US National Institutes of Health (NIH) have made many conclusions about the uses of 3 types of vegetable oils with many health benefits. First, brown rice oil contains abundant Gamma Oryzanol and Phytosterol content, which helps reduce cholesterol absorption from food, preventing blood fat. Second, sunflower oil supplements natural vitamin E, which has antioxidant effects. Third, soybean oil is rich in Omega 3, 6, 9, which is good for cardiovascular health. With these benefits, instead of choosing each type, using cooking oil combined from the above 3 types of oil is the optimal solution to diversify nutrients, supplementing many good fats for the body at the same time" - Mr. Son shared more.
