Vietnam highly values the cooperation and support proposals of Cuba’s high-ranking leaders and will do its utmost to promote specific measures that suit Cuba’s needs and Vietnam’s conditions.
Vietnam attaches importance to promoting cooperation with Cuba to deepen and further develop the exemplary relationship of loyalty between the two Parties and States. Vietnam understands and shares, and is ready to cooperate with Cuba to overcome difficulties, especially in the economic and social fields.
The National Assembly Chairman suggested that the two sides need to promote the potential and conditions of each country, identify key areas of cooperation such as: agriculture, aquaculture, biotechnology, healthcare, production of consumer goods to replace imports, construction of tourism infrastructure, hotel management, construction materials, etc.
The two countries coordinate at multilateral forums, supporting each other's positions on regional and international issues.
Regarding agricultural cooperation, Vietnam continues to pay attention to and maintain a stable supply of rice to Cuba; continues to support Cuba in improving production capacity through cooperation projects to develop rice, corn, and aquatic product production.
Regarding medical cooperation, the National Assembly Chairman suggested that Cuba promote cooperation in cancer treatment, cerebrovascular intervention, organ transplantation; research cooperation, technology transfer for Covid-19 vaccine production, technology transfer for pharmaceutical preparation...
Regarding cooperation between the two National Assemblies, Vietnam is pleased with the development of good relations between the legislative bodies of the two countries with high-level visits opening up important cooperation, bringing the relationship between the two National Assemblies into depth and effectiveness.
The Vietnamese National Assembly is ready to welcome more delegations from the Cuban National Assembly to visit, share and exchange experiences.
The two leaders discussed the direction and measures for cooperation between the two countries and the two National Assemblies, and agreed to promote effective coordination between the two sides' functional agencies.
