On the afternoon of October 27, at the National Assembly House, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue received Mr. Chey Tae Won, Chairman of SK Group, Korea.

Pleased to meet Mr. Chey Tae Won again and highly appreciating the results of the Group's business cooperation with Vietnamese partners, the National Assembly Chairman welcomed SK Group's investment in the high-tech biodegradable materials factory project in Hai Phong.

The National Assembly Chairman thanked and appreciated SK Group for its active support for the National Innovation Center in Hoa Lac (NIC). The National Assembly Chairman expressed his belief that the Center's activities will be a boost to promote innovative startups in Vietnam, contributing to the economic transformation process and forming more Centers in Vietnam.

The Group will participate in cooperation and technology demonstration at the Vietnam International Innovation Exhibition 2023; coordinate with the Ministry of Planning and Investment to organize the Energy Transition Forum and Green Hydrogen Energy Development in Vietnam within the framework of the Inauguration Ceremony of the National Innovation Center.

Assessing the Group's social responsibility, the National Assembly Chairman thanked Chairman Chey Tae Won and SK Group for donating 1 million USD to Vietnam's Covid-19 Vaccine Fund during the pandemic.

Thanking National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue for taking the time to welcome him, SK Group Chairman Chey Tae Won expressed his delight at the results that are gradually taking shape after the Memorandums of Understanding (MOUs) on cooperation between the two countries on green growth were signed during the official visit of National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue to Korea in 2021. Specifically, the National Innovation Center will be inaugurated and officially put into operation on October 28, 2023; the direction of cooperation between SK Group and Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) in green energy development...

Mr. Chey Tae Won said that SK Group currently holds many technologies and has many subsidiaries related to the green technology field; it is willing to cooperate with Vietnamese partners in green energy conversion, contributing to Vietnam's potential and proactiveness in energy production.

As Chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), Mr. Chey Tae Won said that KCCI is cooperating with the Vietnam Federation of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) in the field of private enterprise development; hoping that small-scale but innovative enterprises will increasingly appear in Vietnam.

The National Assembly Chairman congratulated and highly appreciated the cooperation results between SK Group and Vietnamese partners, hoping that SK would share its experience to contribute to the development of a legal framework suitable to practice to improve Vietnam's investment and business environment. The National Assembly Chairman welcomed and supported SK's cooperation proposal in the fields of energy, semiconductors and ICT in the coming time.

Stating that research, development, innovation and creativity, and application of science and technology are top priorities of Vietnam, the National Assembly Chairman suggested that SK Group continue to promote cooperation with Vietnam in the energy transition process and implement a roadmap to reduce carbon emissions to achieve the goal of zero emissions (Net Zero) by 2050, actively contributing to Vietnam's economic development; including sharing experiences in perfecting institutions and policies related to this field.

National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue stated that the Vietnamese National Assembly supports and is ready to create a favorable legal corridor for investment, production and business activities of the domestic and foreign business community, including Korean enterprises and SK Group; and will accompany and create favorable conditions for the Group to implement effective, successful and sustainable investment and business activities in Vietnam.
