Chi Linh City has sought public opinion on the plan to rename wards after the reorganization of commune-level administrative units. It is expected that the new wards will be named after famous people associated with the history of the formation and development of the locality.

Chi Linh Ward 1 was changed to Chu Van An Ward. The name Chu Van An was chosen because for nearly 7 centuries, the name of the World Cultural Celebrity, Master of Ten Thousand Worlds, Chu Van An has been associated with the Phoenix Mountain Range (Chi Linh).

Chi Linh 2 Ward was changed to Chi Linh Ward. Historically, the old Chi Linh district included Nhan Hue commune, Co Thanh commune and part of the current Pha Lai ward. According to historical documents, during the Tran Dynasty, this area was the administrative center of Chi Linh land.

Chi Linh 3 Ward was renamed Tran Hung Dao Ward. The land here bears the mark of Tran Hung Dao's great achievements and illustrious career. For more than 7 centuries, Hung Dao Dai Vuong Temple (Kiep Bac Temple) in Hung Dao Commune has become the center of worship of Saint Tran in the whole country.

Chi Linh Ward 4 was changed to Nguyen Trai Ward. The choice of the name Nguyen Trai was to acknowledge the great contributions of National Hero, World Cultural Celebrity Nguyen Trai to Con Son - Chi Linh.

Chi Linh 5 Ward was changed to Tran Nhan Tong Ward. Emperor Tran Nhan Tong (1258 - 1308) was the founder of the Truc Lam Yen Tu Buddhist Zen sect. During the years of propagating Buddhism, Emperor Tran Nhan Tong spent a lot of time preaching, lecturing on sutras and directing the construction of large monasteries such as Ngu Dai Son, Con Son, Thanh Mai, Huyen Thien, Sung Nghiem, Quang Son... These were the major Buddhist centers of the Tran Dynasty in the Chi Linh area.

Chi Linh Ward 6 was renamed Le Dai Hanh Ward. According to historical records, Emperor Le Dai Hanh decided to build a headquarters to fight against the Song invaders in the Duoc Dau Trang area in Bang Chau District, Nam Sach Prefecture (now An Lac Ward, Chi Linh City). For over 1,000 years, Le Dai Hanh's name and career have been deeply engraved in the history of the land and are the pride of the people of Chi Linh.

According to the plan that had previously solicited public opinion, Chi Linh City established 6 new wards named Chi Linh 1, Chi Linh 2, Chi Linh 3, Chi Linh 4, Chi Linh 5, Chi Linh 6.
