(Dan Tri) - Le Duy Sang received a styrofoam box containing more than 18kg of firecrackers sent by a friend in Binh Duong via shipper and brought it home to hide.
On the morning of January 18, the People's Procuracy of Huong Son district ( Ha Tinh province) approved the decision to prosecute and temporarily detain Nguyen Dinh Chieu (born in 1991, residing in Son Trung commune, Huong Son district) for 2 months on charges of possessing prohibited goods.
According to the investigation agency, Nguyen Dinh Chieu has a friendship with a man named Phi, who is living in Binh Duong province.
On January 8, Phi sent Chieu a styrofoam box via delivery service containing 9 blocks of 49-round fireworks and 7 plastic bags containing firecrackers, asking Chieu to keep them for him.
After receiving the package, Chieu contacted Phi to ask for 4 blocks of fireworks to use during the 2025 Lunar New Year. Chieu put these 4 blocks of fireworks in the wardrobe in the bedroom, the remaining contraband was kept in a styrofoam box and hidden in the kitchen area.
At around 8:00 p.m. the same day, the Investigation Police Agency of Huong Son District Police searched Chieu's house and seized all the fireworks with a total weight of more than 18 kg.
Previously, Nguyen Dinh Chieu was also prosecuted for Gambling.
