Implementing Conclusion No. 127-KL/TW of the Politburo and the Secretariat on the implementation of research and proposals to continue to reorganize the apparatus of the political system, on March 3, the Can Tho City Party Committee directed the Standing Committees of districts, towns, and Party Committees directly under the City Party Committee to temporarily suspend the organization of Party congresses at the commune level (including model Party congresses) and at the district level for the 2025-2030 term.

This suspension of congresses at all levels will last until there is direction and guidance from the Central Committee and the City Party Committee.

Can Tho City Party Committee requested local Party committees and units to focus on doing well political and ideological work, stabilizing the situation, continuing to lead and direct the implementation of tasks well and promoting the sense of responsibility of cadres and Party members in performing assigned tasks.

The City Party Committee's Organizing Committee is assigned to preside over and advise the City Party Committee's Standing Committee to lead, direct, and continue to implement the Central's policies and instructions related to the arrangement and organization of the apparatus in the city, ensuring seriousness, compliance with the plan and progress set forth.

Previously, on February 28, the Politburo and Secretariat issued Conclusion No. 127-KL/TW on implementing research and proposing to continue to reorganize the apparatus of the political system.

The Politburo and the Secretariat agreed to temporarily suspend the organization of Party congresses at the commune and district levels. After the 11th meeting of the Party Central Committee, the Politburo will issue specific instructions and guidance.

The Politburo and the Secretariat requested to study the orientation of merging some provincial-level units, not organizing at the district level, merging some commune-level units; orientation of implementing the 2-level local model (party organization, government, mass organizations) to ensure streamlining, efficiency, effectiveness and efficiency.
