TPO - On the night of September 10, the authorities of Dong Ngac Ward (Bac Tu Liem District) completed the evacuation of 340 households in Dong Ngac 1 Residential Group to a safe temporary shelter to avoid flooding.

According to the Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of Bac Tu Liem District, there are 836 households outside the Red River dike and 724 households along the Nhue and Pheo rivers at risk of being affected by floods. In the face of the increasingly rising water level of the Red River, on the day and night of September 10, Bac Tu Liem District officials went directly to each household outside the Red River dike to mobilize them to evacuate to a safe place.

As of 1:30 a.m. on September 11, 100% of households outside the Red River dike in the four wards of Dong Ngac, Lien Mac, Thuy Phuong, and Thuong Cat had evacuated. Mr. Nguyen Van Cuong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Ngac Ward, said that the ward had prepared five cultural houses and three schools in the area to support people temporarily staying in safe places to avoid flooding.

According to Mr. Cuong, on the night of September 10, the ward mobilized and requested households in Dong Ngac 1 residential group with a total of 340 households and 1,200 people to evacuate to a safe place to avoid flooding. The ward People's Committee inspected and prepared facilities, ensuring necessities for people to temporarily stay and avoid floods and storms.

At the shelter, people are provided with enough food, water, and blankets.

On the afternoon of September 11, Ms. Nguyen Lan Huong, Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hanoi City, and a working delegation visited and encouraged people temporarily staying at the Cultural House No. 4 (Dong Ngac Ward). Ms. Nguyen Lan Huong also gave gifts to encourage and lift the spirits of people who are heavily affected by storm No. 3.
