iOS 18.1 introduces many improvements to iPhone such as camera control, spatial photography, bug fixes, security updates.

One feature that many users have been waiting for is iPhone call recording.

iOS 18.1 enables live phone call or FaceTime call recording, making it easy to capture important conversations, save them, and even access transcripts thanks to Apple Intelligence right on your iPhone.

To record iPhone calls, you'll first need to update to iOS 18.1 by going to Settings > General > Software Update . iOS 18.1 is compatible with iPhone XS and later. Next, follow these steps:

Step 1: Open the Phone app on your iPhone

Step 2: Make a call or answer an incoming call

Step 3: During the call, click the Start Call Recording button in the upper left corner

Step 4: Both the listener and the caller will hear a notification that the call is being recorded to ensure transparency.

Step 5: When you're done recording, press the stop button or hang up.

All call recordings are automatically saved in a dedicated folder in the Notes app, where you can listen to recordings, view transcriptions, and even get summaries of the conversation generated by Apple Intelligence.

Previously, Apple did not allow recording of iPhone calls because it was banned in many countries. Privacy remains a major concern globally. However, it seems that the "bitten apple" has changed its mind with iOS 18.
