BIDV leads in revenue among Top 50 best listed companies in Vietnam

Forbes Vietnam has just honored the 50 best listed companies in Vietnam in 2024. BIDV continues to be the representative with the largest revenue in the banking industry to be included in the list. Previously, BIDV also entered the Top 1,000 largest enterprises in the world for the first time, announced by Forbes Magazine (USA) on June 6, 2024.

To make the list of the 50 best listed companies in 2024, companies listed on the HSX and HNX are evaluated through many steps. In the preliminary round, companies need to meet the following conditions: making a profit in 2023, with revenue and capitalization of at least VND 500 billion. In the next round, companies are quantitatively scored on five criteria: compound growth rate of revenue, profit, ROE (Return On equity), ROC (Return on capital) and EPS (Earnings per share) growth in the period 2019 - 2023.

Next, Forbes Vietnam conducted a qualitative survey to assess the sustainable development of the enterprise: the company's position in the industry, source of profit, quality of corporate governance, debt/equity ratio, industry prospects... Established in 1957, BIDV is the oldest bank in Vietnam, with total assets leading the banking system with a scale of 2.52 million billion VND, equivalent to more than 100 billion USD (quarter II/2024). BIDV has a wide network of more than 1,100 branches and transaction offices at home and abroad, establishing partnerships with 2,300 financial institutions globally. BIDV is a pioneer bank in digital transformation, owning a diverse digital ecosystem with a number of outstanding products and services such as: BIDV SmartBanking for individual customers, Ommi BIDV iBank for institutional customers, leading the Open Banking trend with BIDV Open API system... In the coming period, BIDV aims to transform strongly to become a pioneer "Green Bank" with the goal of long-term sustainable development; operating business activities towards safe and effective credit growth, focusing on increasing non-interest income sources, enhancing e-banking services, maximizing revenue sources and controlling costs.
