Closing Ceremony of the 25th International Mathematics Competition - VIMC 2025: Vietnamese delegation won 18 individual medals

Attending the ceremony were Standing Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee Nguyen Dinh Vinh; Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan; Director of the Department of Education and Training, Head of the Exam Organizing Committee Le Thi Bich Thuan; and representatives of the participating delegations.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan said that with more than 500 contestants from 29 countries and territories and the host team Vietnam, the competition brought a vibrant, pure and friendly atmosphere. The students competed fairly and honestly, demonstrating their talent and creativity, leaving a deep impression on international friends as well as the people of Da Nang .

According to Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee Tran Anh Tuan, the exam is not only a place to test intelligence but also an opportunity for students to experience culture, expand friendships, exchange and share.

“I believe that each student will bring home not only the results of an exam, but also international friendships and unforgettable experiences in this hospitable and humane land. Hopefully, the love of mathematics, the spirit of creativity and the desire to conquer knowledge will continue to accompany the students on the journey ahead,” said Vice Chairman of the City People’s Committee Tran Anh Tuan.

According to Mr. Mai Quang Huy, representative of the VIMC 2025 jury, this year's exam covered many diverse areas of mathematics and was more difficult than previous years. What impressed the jury was not only the correct solutions but also the richness of the approaches. Many problems had many valid solutions, demonstrating the creative thinking of the contestants.

At the closing ceremony, the organizing committee awarded prizes at three levels: individual, team and team. The Vietnamese team won 18 individual prizes (6 gold medals, 4 silver medals, 8 bronze medals). The team championship went to the Vietnamese and Singaporean teams.

The Organizing Committee also awarded additional prizes such as: cultural exchange prize, game prize, outstanding individual prize, individual team prize, collective team prize and grand prize. On this occasion, the IMC 2026 hosting flag was awarded to the Mongolian delegation.
