Tien Phong Newspaper won third prize at the Independence Cup to celebrate the 80th anniversary of National Day.

Tien Phong newspaper team is in group B, and has won the right to play in the semi-finals, after two wins against Xay Dung newspaper and Nha Bao va Cong Luan newspaper, and one loss against Phap Luat Viet Nam newspaper.

In the semi-final, Tien Phong Newspaper met an equally matched opponent, Lao Dong Newspaper. Although Tien Phong Newspaper opened the scoring first, in the second half, Lao Dong Newspaper equalized the score. The 1-1 draw forced the two teams to decide the winner on penalties, and in the end, Lao Dong Newspaper won after 13 shots from each side.

With this result, Tien Phong Newspaper team received the Third Prize of the Independence Cup, along with the Vietnam Law Newspaper team, and the Voice of Vietnam Electronic Newspaper team, losing 0-2 in the semi-final match.

In the Independence Cup final on the afternoon of August 17, Voice of Vietnam Electronic Newspaper continued to show its strength when it defeated Lao Dong Newspaper with a score of 3-1.

After the final match, the Organizing Committee presented awards to individuals and groups.

Third Prize: Vietnam Law Newspaper and Tien Phong Newspaper: Each team receives 3 million VND.

Fair-play team: 5G – Digilife: Prize of 2 million VND.

Second Prize: Labor Newspaper: Prize of 5 million VND.

First Prize: Voice of Vietnam Electronic Newspaper: Cup, flag and 10 million VND.

Outstanding goalkeeper: Ngoc Phuong - Voice of Vietnam electronic newspaper: Prize of 1.5 million VND.

Top scorer: Anh Dao - Voice of Vietnam Electronic Newspaper: Prize of 1.5 million VND.

The 2025 Independence Cup has ended, leaving sweet echoes in the hearts of players, fans and the 8 participating teams on the occasion of the Great Festival celebrating the country's 80th National Day.
