Bac Giang: Awarding journalism prizes on the theme "For the poor"

The press award with the theme "For the poor - No one is left behind" was launched by the Department of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs in coordination with the Provincial Journalists Association from April to October 2023. The Organizing Committee received more than 50 press works to participate in the award, and selected 43 works (12 print works, 17 online works and 14 visual works) for the final round.

Evaluating the works participating in this year's award, Comrade Mai Son - Permanent Vice Chairman of Bac Giang Provincial People's Committee said that, in general, the press works have the ability to discover, promptly and honestly reflect new factors, typical advanced models of localities in sustainable poverty reduction, support for the poor; disseminate experiences, initiatives, effective poverty reduction models for promotion and replication.

Thereby, contributing to raising awareness and responsibility of Party committees, authorities, departments, branches and organizations in implementing poverty reduction policies; at the same time, mobilizing the participation of the community, especially the poor, arousing the sense of self-reliance to escape poverty. Many works boldly fight and criticize the manifestations of bureaucracy and unfairness in poverty reduction in the province.

Comrade Mai Son emphasized that in the context of Bac Giang province's socio-economic development rate always being among the top in the country, the people's opportunities to find and have jobs are much higher than before. Therefore, press agencies need to choose a new approach to reflect the results in the leadership and direction of all levels, sectors and localities; the efforts and struggles of the people in poverty reduction work.

At the Press Awards Ceremony with the theme “For the poor - No one left behind”, the Organizing Committee selected 24 excellent works. Including 2 First prizes, 4 Second prizes, 8 Third prizes, 10 Encouragement prizes.

Also on this occasion, the Organizing Committee launched the 2024 Poverty Reduction Journalism Award.
