Each of us has the responsibility to preserve and spread the love for the traditional Ao Dai, which is also contributing to preserving and promoting the cultural values of the Vietnamese people.

Designer SI HOANG

Psychologist Dr. Ly Thi Mai and designer Si Hoang lead the story. Having just returned from an event showcasing Vietnamese ao dai in Australia, Mr. Si Hoang said that Australian politicians even ordered him to design ao dai because they wanted to wear them when they visited Vietnam.

Designer Si Hoang said that the costume has a long-standing traditional cultural value and is closely linked to the country's history, so it is necessary to spread the love of ao dai in the community, especially with the younger generation. It is also a costume with a lot of sentiment, so he is careful in each design.

For him, wearing the ao dai is also a civic responsibility because it shows the sovereignty of the country's costumes and honors the beauty of Vietnamese culture.

Often teaching and speaking, Ms. Ly Thi Mai said she always chooses the ao dai. When on business trips abroad, Ms. Mai said she clearly sees the cultural element of clothing as extremely important.

"The culture of wearing Ao Dai today really needs to be spread. Some people ask if there is any concern about the innovation of Ao Dai, but I think we have appropriate innovation, increasingly diverse designs, rich materials that anyone can wear and feel proud of the traditional Ao Dai" - Ms. Mai shared.

What both speakers agreed on was that every Vietnamese person can be an ambassador for the ao dai. According to Ms. Mai, each young person will contribute to spreading the love of the ao dai to the community. Mr. Si Hoang hopes that young people will learn about the ao dai to love this traditional costume even more.

Sharing at the exchange, teacher Doan Thi Liep said that she always used her ao dai to draw themes related to literary works when she was still a teacher. This helped make her lectures more lively, and passed on her love for ao dai to her students. Over the years, the retired teacher has persistently encouraged many people to donate ao dai to give to students in remote areas.

And the ao dai is not only familiar to women, but men also choose to wear it in many events, on the streets during festivals and weddings. Each of these small actions still silently brings the traditional Vietnamese ao dai far and wide with all the pride.
