The Department of Education and Training of An Giang Province has just held an online conference with 102 communes, wards and special zones in the province on coordination and direction in the field of education and training. Mr. Tran Quang Bao, Director of the Department of Education and Training chaired the conference with the participation of the Department's Board of Directors, leaders of specialized departments, and leaders of 102 communes, wards and special zones in the province.
Accordingly, the Conference reviewed the preparation for the opening of the 2025-2026 school year; grasped the situation, recorded opinions and recommendations of localities in implementing the work of the education and training sector when implementing the 2-level local government model.
At the same time, the Conference focused on discussing the draft content of the coordination regulations between the Department of Education and Training and the People's Committees of communes, wards and special zones in Party building work and leading and directing the implementation of education and training development goals in the area in 2025 and the period 2026 - 2030.
At the conference, leaders of the Department of Education and Training and leaders of specialized departments answered questions about decentralization and delegation of authority in the management of education and training; issues on construction and supplement of teaching and learning facilities in localities; and shared initial difficulties in implementing a two-level government.
Speaking at the conclusion of the conference, Mr. Tran Quang Bao - Director of the Department of Education and Training of An Giang acknowledged that most localities in the province are actively preparing to ensure conditions for the opening of the 2025 - 2026 school year.
In order to solve the difficulties in facilities of units and schools, the Director of the Department of Education and Training requested the leaders of the People's Committees at the commune level to give stronger and more profound instructions so that schools can use the funds allocated from the beginning of the year to serve minor repairs of facilities, preparing for the opening day of the new school year.
For works that are past their useful life and have degraded, it is recommended that units include these items in the medium-term capital for the period 2026 - 2030 for implementation.
Regarding the assessment of facilities, the communes propose in writing to the Department of Construction and the Department of Education and Training to coordinate early surveys, creating a basis for the school to make a plan to properly implement the procedures and regulations on basic construction.
The Director of the Department of Education and Training of An Giang also requested units to study and comment on the draft guidelines for implementing education and training work when implementing the 2-level local government model so that the Department can continue to coordinate with the Department of Home Affairs to provide more specific and clear instructions, as a basis for implementing education and training work well in the coming time.
Propose to add to the coordination regulations between the Department and the People's Committee at the commune level the content of the inspection work of the Education sector, the target of mobilizing children from 3 to 4 years old to go to school...
Mr. Tran Quang Bao, Director of the Department of Education and Training of An Giang, emphasized: "The Department of Education and Training is ready to support the People's Committees at the commune/ward level to remove difficulties and obstacles in the management of the education and training sector to complete assigned political targets and tasks."
