Mr. Cong shared that he previously worked as an export worker in Japan with an attractive salary of over 30 million VND/month after about 5 years.
Although the place still invited him to stay and work, he refused and decided to return to his hometown to do farming.
After working abroad for a while, Nguyen Chi Cong saved up some money and returned to his hometown in Cam Phuoc Tay commune, Cam Lam district (Khanh Hoa province) to start a business.
Realizing that local people only grow bananas and sugarcane with low income, they decided to look for a new model that would bring higher economic efficiency.

After many days of researching different models, Mr. Cong chose the model of growing vegetables and raising fish. He hired workers to spend over 700 million VND to build a pond to raise fish, as well as a roofing system and a clean water system to grow vegetables.

The entire system above is made using a circular method. After the water is used to raise fish, the waste from the system is treated and used to grow vegetables.
On the contrary, the wastewater used to grow vegetables is later used to raise fish, thereby saving costs in agricultural production.

With an area of 100m2, he raises carp, elephant ear fish, koi fish, red tilapia, etc. The fish are now 3 months old and growing very well. It is expected that they will be harvested in 3 months.

In the 500m2 area, Mr. Cong grows vegetables such as mustard greens and lettuce using clean vegetable growing methods. In the near future, Mr. Cong will expand the area to grow tomatoes, Malabar spinach, Chinese cabbage, etc. to supply customers in Cam Lam district, Cam Ranh city and Nha Trang.

Mr. Cong shared that the first days of making this model were very difficult because no one in the area had done it yet, so every detail and technique had to be researched by himself, which took a lot of time.
Mr. Cong is still planning to continue implementing the model of raising eels, growing green-skinned grapefruit and coconut to increase income for his family.
Mr. Hoang Huy Vinh Quy - Chairman of the Farmers' Association of Cam Phuoc Tay commune said that Cam Phuoc Tay commune has just been recognized as a new rural commune and this is an area with a large number of ethnic minorities living together.
In the locality, there have been many models such as raising hybrid wild boars, growing lotus, and raising free-range chickens for stable income.

The locality always encourages the development of high-tech agricultural models and circular agriculture to replace ineffective models. The circular vegetable and fish farming model is considered a new model that needs to be replicated for members and farmers in the area to learn and share experiences to help people escape poverty.
