Briefing Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh at the working session with Quang Nam province on the afternoon of February 8, Mr. Le Van Dung, Chairman of Quang Nam Provincial People's Committee, said that recently, the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial Party Standing Committee, and the Provincial Steering Committee on summarizing the implementation of Resolution No. 18 of the Party Central Committee have met and resolutely directed the reorganization of the apparatus and the building of a "lean, compact, strong" cadre team, operating "efficiently, effectively, and efficiently" associated with improving the quality of the cadre and civil servant team in the spirit of Resolution No. 18.

Up to now, the province has completed the arrangement of administrative units at commune and district levels (reducing 1 district and 8 communes and wards). In particular, the project of arranging provincial departments and branches and district-level offices is completed and is awaiting submission to the People's Councils at all levels. The locality also unanimously approved the project after the arrangement, there will be 13/19 departments (reduced by 31.6%); the focal points within the departments will be reduced by 21.8%, the focal points within public service units will be reduced by 18.5%.
