The Organizing Committee of the 8th National Press Award on Party Building presented awards to 72 works. Ha Tinh Newspaper was honored to receive the Encouragement Prize with the reportage “The Party’s Vanguard Army among Ethnic Minorities in Ha Tinh”.

On the occasion of the 94th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 - February 3, 2024), on the evening of February 1, at the Vietnam - Soviet Union Friendship Labor Cultural Palace, the Central Organizing Committee presided over and coordinated with Nhan Dan Newspaper, Communist Magazine, Vietnam Television, and Vietnam Journalists Association to organize the 8th National Press Award for Party Building - 2023.

Attending the award ceremony were Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; Permanent member of the Secretariat, Head of the Central Organizing Committee - Head of the Steering Committee of the Golden Hammer and Sickle Award Truong Thi Mai; Head of the Central Internal Affairs Committee Phan Dinh Trac; Chief Justice of the Supreme People's Court Nguyen Hoa Binh; Permanent Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Tran Thanh Man; Politburo members, Secretaries of the Party Central Committee; former Politburo members, former Secretaries of the Party Central Committee; leaders of central departments, ministries, branches, and organizations...

Through 8 times of organization, the National Press Award on Party building has affirmed its value, attractiveness, and influence on the work of Party building, political system building, and staff building; at the same time, it affirms the profound political awareness, professional ethics, and steadfast revolutionary heart of journalists nationwide, worthy of Uncle Ho's teaching: "Press cadres are also revolutionary soldiers".

The works participating in the award adhered closely to the policies and viewpoints on Party building work, vividly reflecting political activities in the Party; especially urgent emerging issues such as building culture and ethics in the Party, fighting against the "fear of responsibility disease", while encouraging and protecting dynamic, creative cadres who dare to think, dare to do, dare to take responsibility for the common good; fighting against corruption and negativity; refuting wrong and distorted viewpoints, protecting the Party's ideological foundation... In addition, the works also proposed solutions to remove difficulties and obstacles, encouraging spirit, arousing the aspiration for rapid and sustainable national development.

In 2023, the National Golden Hammer and Sickle Award has 2,216 works from news agencies and newspapers nationwide participating in the competition. According to the Organizing Committee's assessment, the works participating in the award continue to be rich in themes and genres and cover all provinces and cities nationwide.

The works closely followed hot issues, outstanding events, and key tasks of the political system and the country. Many works deeply reflected the current issues of Party building and rectification. Some works mentioned current pressing issues, with high social criticism and combativeness.

From 120 works selected by the Preliminary Council for the final round, the Final Council reviewed and unanimously selected the best works to award 6 A prizes, 12 B prizes, 18 C prizes, 30 Encouragement prizes and 6 thematic prizes.

In addition, the Organizing Committee also awarded prizes to 15 press agencies, journalists' associations, propaganda departments, and party committees with outstanding achievements in organizing and participating in the award. At the award ceremony, the Organizing Committee also selected a number of outstanding figures in the award-winning works to commend and reward.

In Ha Tinh, press agencies have actively participated in the 2023 Golden Hammer and Sickle Award with many quality works, reflecting an objective, comprehensive and vivid panorama of Party building and political system consolidation in the province and the country. Thereby, 125 works entered the provincial final round and the Organizing Committee of the Ha Tinh Golden Hammer and Sickle Award awarded prizes to 27 of the best works.

The Organizing Committee of the Provincial Golden Hammer and Sickle Award also sent 66 works to participate in the 8th National Press Award on Party Building - 2023. Of which, the group of authors Tien Dung - Thang Long - Thanh Nam (Ha Tinh Newspaper) was honored to win the Encouragement Prize with the report: "The Party's vanguard among ethnic minorities in Ha Tinh".

The series of reports "The Party's vanguard among ethnic minorities in Ha Tinh" was published in Ha Tinh Electronic Newspaper with 4 parts, including: A 30-year-old Tay ethnic party member dedicated to the border; The pride of the Muong people in Loi Sim village; The story of the "family party cell" of the Chut ethnic group in Rao Tre village; "Resolving difficulties, focusing on developing party members, and replicating advanced models.

The articles focused on reflecting typical factors and good practices in the work of developing party members among ethnic minorities in Ha Tinh. Thanks to priority care, the "vanguard" of the party in the ethnic minority community in the area has promoted the pioneering and exemplary spirit to excellently complete all tasks assigned by the Party and entrusted by the people. They always know what they need to do, how to do it, and when to do it to be useful to the Party, beneficial to the people, and best serve the cause of building and defending the Fatherland in the new situation.

The articles also affirmed that the care for building the Party organization, developing Party members associated with replicating advanced models among ethnic minorities in Ha Tinh has been carried out regularly and continuously and brought about many important results, helping the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's laws penetrate deeply into the lives of border and disadvantaged areas. In addition, the articles also discussed and proposed solutions to overcome difficulties and limitations so that this work can achieve better results.
