Ho Chi Minh City plans to spend VND2,000 billion to build a 1.65 km long access road from Ring Road 2 to the expressway connecting Binh Phuoc, helping to increase project investment efficiency.
The content is stated in the official dispatch that the City People's Committee has just sent to the Government Office to give comments on the implementation plan of the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway. This is a planned expressway with a length of 69 km, connecting Ho Chi Minh City with the two provinces of Binh Duong and Binh Phuoc.

The city has agreed on the plan for the starting point of the expressway to connect with Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3, the section passing through Binh Duong. From this point, the access road will be built to the Go Dua intersection, part of Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 2, with a total length of nearly 9 km.
Of which, 1.65 km passes through the city, connecting from Go Dua intersection, along Provincial Road 43, then turning right along Provincial Road 743 to Binh Duong. The city plans to separate this access road into a separate project, with a total capital of about 2,000 billion VND from the budget to synchronously connect with the access road on the Binh Duong side.
Previously in May, in an official dispatch sent to the Prime Minister regarding the implementation of the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway, Binh Duong province - where the expressway passes the longest - proposed to be assigned as the competent authority to invest in the section from Ho Chi Minh City Ring Road 3 to the border of Binh Phuoc province, 45.6 km long. The total investment capital is expected to be more than 16,000 billion VND, in which public investment will be applied for site clearance and PPP for construction and installation.
Binh Duong province also proposed that the Prime Minister assign Binh Phuoc province to invest in the section passing through the area (about 7.1 km) with a separate project under the public investment method, with a preliminary total investment of nearly 1,800 billion VND.
According to the plan, the Ho Chi Minh City - Thu Dau Mot - Chon Thanh expressway will have 6-8 lanes and will be completed before 2030. When completed, the project will help increase transport capacity, trade goods, reduce congestion on National Highway 14 and shorten travel time between localities.
