Secretary General of the National Assembly Bui Van Cuong said that on the afternoon of August 13, the National Assembly Standing Committee met to consider and decide on the dismissal of Mr. Dang Quoc Khanh, a National Assembly deputy from the National Assembly Delegation of Ha Giang province, and Mr. Chau Van Lam, a National Assembly deputy from the National Assembly Delegation of Tuyen Quang province.

Accordingly, based on the Constitution, the Law on Organization of the National Assembly and relevant legal provisions; based on the opinions of competent agencies; based on the Submission of the Delegation Work Committee; considering the Application for resignation from the duties of a National Assembly deputy dated August 5, 2024 of Mr. Dang Quoc Khanh and the Application for resignation from the duties of a National Assembly deputy dated August 6, 2024 of Mr. Chau Van Lam, the National Assembly Standing Committee discussed, voted by secret ballot to approve and promulgate Resolution No. 1139.

Accordingly, the National Assembly Standing Committee dismissed Mr. Dang Quoc Khanh from the National Assembly Delegation of Ha Giang province, constituency No. 1 including Ha Giang city and districts: Bac Me, Quan Ba, Yen Minh, Dong Van, Meo Vac and Mr. Chau Van Lam from the National Assembly Delegation of Tuyen Quang province, constituency No. 1 including districts: Na Hang, Lam Binh and Chiem Hoa.

Previously, on August 3, the 13th Party Central Committee held a meeting on personnel work according to its authority and agreed to let Mr. Dang Quoc Khanh and Mr. Chau Van Lam cease to hold the positions of members of the 13th Party Central Committee.

Mr. Dang Quoc Khanh was born on September 2, 1976, in Ha Tinh province. In July 2019, Mr. Dang Quoc Khanh held the position of Secretary of the Ha Giang Provincial Party Committee, and was then approved by the National Assembly to be appointed as Minister of Natural Resources and Environment on May 22, 2023.

Mr. Chau Van Lam was born on April 16, 1967, in Tuyen Quang province. In March 2015, Mr. Lam was elected Secretary of the Tuyen Quang Provincial Party Committee and has held this position since then.

Recently, the Prime Minister decided to assign Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Hoa, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment to manage the activities of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment from August 10 until the competent authority completes the position of Minister.

At the recent meeting of the Standing Committee of the Tuyen Quang Provincial Party Committee, Ms. Le Thi Kim Dung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council, was assigned to direct the work of the Provincial Party Committee.
