A man who made false, distorted, slanderous comments on social media, insulting the reputation of agencies and organizations related to the attack on a commune headquarters in Dak Lak, was fined 5.5 million VND.
On June 13, the Internal Political Security Department - Quang Nam Provincial Police issued a decision to administratively fine Mr. TR (born in 1985; residing in Hoi An City, Quang Nam Province) VND 5.5 million for the act of "Providing fake information, false information, distorting, slandering, insulting the reputation of agencies, organizations, honor, and dignity of individuals".
Mr. TR was invited to work and punished for posting false information.
Previously, at 11:00 a.m. on June 11, the Fanpage "Government Information" posted an article with the content "Arresting a group of subjects who used guns to attack the commune headquarters in Dak Lak".
After viewing, Mr. R. used his personal Facebook to share this article with comments that were untrue, distorted, slanderous, and insulting to the reputation of the agency or organization in a public state.
During the course of work, Mr. R. admitted his wrongdoing.
The Department of Internal Political Security - Quang Nam Provincial Police has issued a decision to impose administrative sanctions in the field of information technology for the above behavior (according to the provisions of Point a, Clause 1, Article 101, Decree 15/2020/ND-CP) against Mr. R.
