President Luong Cuong affirmed that Vietnam always attaches importance to and gives the highest priority to the special Vietnam-Laos solidarity relationship, and is ready to help Laos in the cause of national construction and development.

On the afternoon of December 6, at the Presidential Palace, President Luong Cuong received Comrade Bounthong Chitmany, Permanent Secretary of the Secretariat and Vice President of Laos, who is on a working visit to Vietnam.

President Luong Cuong welcomed Comrade Bounthong Chitmany, who led the delegation to visit Vietnam, and warmly congratulated the Lao People's Democratic Republic on the 49th National Day; and congratulated the important and historic achievements that the Lao Party, State and people have achieved after nearly 40 years of renovation.

Comrade Bounthong Chitmany congratulated Comrade Luong Cuong on being elected by the Vietnamese National Assembly to the position of President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; congratulated the great and historic achievements that the Vietnamese people have achieved in the past; expressed his belief that under the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam, the Vietnamese people will continue to gain many new and greater achievements, successfully implement the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress, successfully organize Party Congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Party Congress in early 2026.

Comrade Bounthong Chitmany informed President Luong Cuong about the good results of his visit to Vietnam and shared about the situation in Laos, especially the preparations for the 12th Congress.
