"Many people are curious about our special names, my brother's name is Nhat, my sister's name is Nhat Nhat. Combining my brother's and my sister's names also creates the word Nhat Nhat. But my parents have never been to Japan. My parents work in the fields in the countryside, but my father is very passionate about football. My brother was born on June 30, 2002, the day of the 2002 World Cup final in Japan (Korea and Japan were co-hosts - PV). My brother's and my names were born from that fate," player Thien Nhat Nhat shared.
Both Nhat Nhat brothers inherited their love of football from their father. Born and raised in Ninh Thuan, the two boys are passionate about the football fields in their hometown, and on every field, their father is always there to cheer and support his sons. In Nhat Nhat, there is a younger brother, an 11th grade student, who also loves football. The mother of the three young men always encourages her children to try to balance between studying and sports, and to stay healthy. "Football has given us many precious things. The feeling of happiness and joy when the team scores a goal. The moments of family bonding," Nhat Nhat said.
"When we entered university, participated in student friendly tournaments and especially qualified for the 2024 TNSV THACO Cup Finals, my father was very proud. The match that made me burst into emotion the most was when Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry beat Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education 1-0 to win a ticket to the Finals. The saddest match was when the team lost 1-2 to Dong Nai University of Technology in the opening match of the Finals. Although he could not go to Ho Chi Minh City to cheer for his children, my father did not miss any match of the tournament that was broadcast live on YouTube. My father once encouraged us, "You guys did well, try harder next time," the Japanese player confided.
This year, the entire team of Ho Chi Minh City University of Agriculture and Forestry has been training longer and with higher intensity, determined to win a ticket to the 2025 THACO Cup TNSV Finals. After that, the team will continue to go deeper into the tournament, towards further destinations. Both Japanese brothers are full of determination, maintaining the team's training discipline, not being negligent for a moment to conquer the goal with coach Phan Hoang Vu and his teammates, preserving the most beautiful memories of their student days.
"Hoang Nhat's dream is to open a mechanical workshop in his hometown after graduation, and I hope to open a small business after graduation, doing agricultural products. If we have time, we will definitely open a football center in our hometown," Nhat Nhat confided.
