A representative of the People's Committee of Di An City (Binh Duong) said that with 6 lanes and a length of more than 3km, the East-West Main Road plays an important role, connecting Binh Duong province with the new Eastern Bus Station in Ho Chi Minh City, helping people of the two localities to travel conveniently.

The East-West Main Road starts at National Highway 1K (Binh Duong) through the University Village Belt (Ho Chi Minh City National University Urban Area) to Hanoi Highway (National Highway 1A) and ends at the new Eastern Bus Station of Ho Chi Minh City.

The total investment of the project is about 730 billion VND, starting in 2021. The main East-West axis has a median strip planted with flowers and trees. There is a section in the middle of this entire route that does not have a hard median strip.

Currently, the East-West Main Road has been basically completed and opened to traffic, but cannot yet connect with National Highway 1A.

Authorities are urgently working on the final point, the connecting section between the East-West Main Road and National Highway 1A, expected to open to traffic this year.

The East-West Main Axis connection point with the new Eastern Bus Station is not yet completed.

The East-West Main Road, once completed, will not only create development for Di An City but also help connect traffic between Binh Duong and Ho Chi Minh City.

The East-West Main Road, formerly Thong Nhat Street, was expanded from 12m to 32m with 6 lanes.

The East-West Main Road has a sidewalk about 3m wide with a full system of signs and directional boards installed. The entire route has about 200 lighting poles and 8 traffic light systems.

The route has beautiful winding sections.
