The Humanity Bookcase donates books to many schools in the Northwest region and opens the Wisdom House in Son La.

With the desire to spread the reading culture, bringing a rich source of knowledge to book-loving students. From August 26-28, the Charity Bookcase program has donated many bookcases to schools, Vocational Education-Continuing Education Centers (VET-GDTX) and Wisdom House in Dien Bien province and Son La city.

On the eve of the new school year, the Humanitarian Bookcase and philanthropists such as Minh Thang Bookstore, Tri Thuc Viet Bookstore, Sunday Shelf project and Sotatek Technology Joint Stock Company have successfully organized book donation programs and developed reading culture in Dien Bien province and Son La city.

Accordingly, 40 bookcases were donated to Quai To Primary School, Tuan Giao District and Tua Chua District Continuing Education Center. 22 bookcases were donated to Noong Het Primary School, Dien Bien and 66 bookcases were donated to Nguyen Trai Secondary School and 10 Wisdom Houses in Son La City.

Hundreds of new books of various genres such as science comics, fairy tales, life skills books, reference materials, etc. were presented. The program also organized cultural exchanges, shared, inspired reading and guided children on how to choose and read books effectively.

Principal of Noong Het Primary School, Ms. Mac Thi Phuong Hao expressed her deep gratitude to the sponsors and those who contributed to bringing books to Dien Bien students in general and Noong Het Primary School in particular. “The Charity Bookcase coming and donating books to the school is an opportunity for students here to get closer to books, equip themselves with a lot of useful knowledge, and support their learning activities.”

The principal of Quai To Primary School, Ms. Le Thi Cay, was also very moved and grateful: “This book donation event is very meaningful to the students here. It helps them have many opportunities to read and learn knowledge. Besides, the library is a place where everyone is free to study, exchange, develop together, find direction and realize their dreams. The school will organize competitions and activities to promote students' love of reading through expressing their feelings about the books they have read.”

Mr. Nguyen Quoc Huy, Executive Director of Nhan Ai Bookcase, shared: “Building a reading culture for students, especially primary school students, is extremely important. Because once they have this habit, they will be able to explore and learn on their own in their lifelong learning journey. Moreover, books can form good personalities and largely determine their future lives.”

Attending the launching ceremony of the Wisdom House of Nguyen Trai Secondary School and visiting some Wisdom Houses in residential groups in Son La City, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, founder of the Compassionate Bookcase and Wisdom House program, shared: “The Lifelong Learning Institute and the Wisdom House network will provide maximum support to the Wisdom Houses in Son La City in organizing activities, especially connecting domestic and international professors, lecturers, and students to exchange culture and academics. We can also connect Son La City to establish a sister city with a city abroad that is similar in culture and society. I think these things will be really meaningful for the Son La Global Learning City”.

Chairman of Son La City People's Committee, Mr. Do Van Tru wrote a letter of thanks: "The book donation program has brought many practical values, not only contributing to improving the quality of education but also arousing the passion for reading and learning for students. The useful books and valuable documents that you have donated will be an important source of knowledge, helping students to be more confident, eager to learn and develop comprehensively."

Since August 2024, the Humanitarian Bookcase program has donated 40 bookcases to Quai To Primary School, Tuan Giao District, Dien Bien Province; 22 bookcases to Noong Het School, Dien Bien Province and 66 bookcases at Nguyen Trai Secondary School and 10 Wisdom Houses in Son La City.
