Master Nguyen Thi Xuan Dung, Director of the Media Center of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology, said that this year the school's minimum admission score ranges from 16-19 depending on the major, but the health science major group will apply the threshold score set by the Ministry of Education and Training.

Many "hot" industries have floor scores from 16-19

Of which, the information technology, communications and marketing group has the leading floor score with 19 points. Next are the automotive engineering technology, business administration, digital marketing, logistics and supply chain management, and public relations groups with 18 points.

For the fields of electric car technology, computer science, graphic design, finance-banking, accounting, veterinary medicine, the floor score is 17. All other fields are 16 points.

This score includes regional and subject priority points and is calculated as follows: Input quality assurance threshold = Total high school graduation exam score of 3 subjects in the admission combination + total priority points.

For majors with admission combinations including drawing aptitude (architecture, interior design, graphic design, fashion design, digital art, film and television technology); music aptitude 1 and 2 (vocal music), candidates can take the aptitude test organized by the school or take the aptitude test results from another university to combine admission according to the prescribed subject combination.

It is known that Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology organized an aptitude test (including music aptitude and drawing aptitude) on August 17.

How is the benchmark score different from the floor score?

Master Xuan Dung said: " Based on the test score distribution of candidates, along with records from the actual early admission registration at the school and the announced floor score, it is predicted that the school's benchmark score this year may not fluctuate much compared to 2023. Normally, the benchmark score differs from the floor by about 1-3 points depending on the industry. Accordingly, with the floor score of 16-19 points, it is expected that this year's benchmark score may fluctuate between 16-21".

According to Master Dung, the majors associated with the current career choice trends of candidates, with high levels of competition and "competition rates" such as multimedia communications, marketing, digital marketing, graphic design, public relations, information technology, computer science, business administration, logistics & supply chain management... are expected to have higher fluctuation scores than the remaining majors.

Candidates can register for admission on the system from today until 5:00 p.m. on July 30. Admission results are expected to be announced before 5:00 p.m. on August 19.
