Ho Chi Minh City: Attracting tourism products associated with culture and history

Designed specifically for the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 / April 30, 2025), tourism products in Ho Chi Minh City focus on exploiting cultural and historical imprints, attracting the attention of domestic and foreign tourists.

Guides from Penguin Travel Service Joint Stock Company introduced the artifacts of the calendar dated April 30, 1975 and the top of a fence of the Independence Palace gate that fell when our army's tanks entered, currently on display at the Museum.   Ho Chi Minh City, tourists find it very interesting and meaningful. Tourists join tours to relics and "red addresses" in Ho Chi Minh City.

The most prominent of these are the Ho Chi Minh Museum - Ho Chi Minh City Branch, Thong Nhat Hall, Thu Ngu Flagpole, the headquarters of the People's Committee - People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City, the system of relics about Saigon Special Forces...

Sharing his experience in promoting the value of relics in tourism, Mr. Nguyen Minh Tam, Deputy Director of Cu Chi Tunnels Historical Site, said that with the spirit of "Ancient relics, new experiences", the unit has linked up with more than 200 tourism and travel service businesses in building tours. At the same time, the relic site has renewed itself through investing in building an automatic commentary system, applying artificial intelligence technology to tourism, experiencing virtual reality technology, etc. The unit has also promoted promotion through the City Department of Tourism and linked up with tourist areas and destinations in other localities.

Closing the first quarter of 2025, Ho Chi Minh City's tourism industry recorded strong growth when welcoming more than 1.6 million international visitors and 8.5 million domestic visitors, demonstrating the city's strong attraction on the tourism map of Vietnam and the region. With careful preparation of products and services, combined with diverse festival and cultural activities, during the peak tourist season on the occasion of April 30, the city's tourism industry is expected to reach a remarkable milestone in growth.

Ms. Nguyen Cam Tu, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Promotion Center, analyzed that the tourism industry's activities at this time are favorable when there is a resonance from a series of programs and events celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification. The tourism industry not only renews its products but also promotes communication and promotion, helping tourists feel the dynamism, excitement and a deeper understanding of the rich culture and history of Ho Chi Minh City. The whole industry strives to achieve the goal of welcoming 8.5 million international visitors and 45 million domestic tourists by 2025, continuing to affirm the Ho Chi Minh City tourism brand internationally.

Ho Chi Minh City currently has nearly 200 historical and cultural relics that have been ranked at all levels, many of which are associated with the resistance war against the US to save the country, and have been preserved and promoted in value. In recent times, the city's tourism industry has focused on exploiting cultural and historical elements in designing new tourism products, in line with the policy of each district having a unique tourism product. The attraction of this product comes from the element of ancient relics but new experiences, creating diversity in the journey of discovery of tourists.
