Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee has just issued a Decision approving the architectural competition plan for Binh Tien bridge and road (section from Pham Van Chi street to Nguyen Van Linh street).
The goal of the competition is to find the optimal architectural solution that is highly feasible, unique, modern, and creates a highlight in the area.
The project construction location is a new traffic axis (main urban axis) radial, connecting the city center with the new urban area of South Saigon, Hiep Phuoc Port urban area and connecting with Ring Roads 2, 3 and 4 of Ho Chi Minh City.

Therefore, the City People's Committee requires that the most optimal architectural plan must satisfy the requirements of the construction task and approved planning.
Architectural design needs to be in harmony with the street space, the facades in all directions must be studied synchronously, paying special attention to the section crossing Vo Van Kiet Street, Doi Canal and Nguyen Van Linh Street.
In terms of form, Ho Chi Minh City will organize a public competition, with no limit on the number of participating organizations. Consulting units and organizations that register to participate will have their profiles reviewed, evaluated, and invited to participate in the design product implementation round.
The selection council will evaluate, rank, select the optimal idea, report to the competition organizing agency to submit to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee for approval and announce the results, and award prizes according to regulations.
The Binh Tien bridge and road construction project was approved by the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council in April 2025.
The project has a total length of 3.66 km with a scale of 4 - 6 lanes, a total investment of 6,285 billion VND invested from the Ho Chi Minh City budget.
Of which, compensation, support and resettlement costs are VND2,878 billion; construction and equipment costs are VND2,264 billion; contingency costs are VND916 billion; project management, consulting and other costs are about VND226 billion.
According to the plan, Binh Tien bridge and road will start construction in the first quarter of 2026 and be completed in the third quarter of 2027.
