Push for the US to soon recognize Vietnam's market economy status
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh expressed his delight at the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the US for peace , cooperation and sustainable development. This creates a new momentum and a long-term cooperation framework for the bilateral relationship, opening a new phase for economic, trade and investment cooperation.
To effectively implement the framework of the Vietnam-US Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, the Prime Minister requested the US Department of Commerce to soon recognize Vietnam’s market economy status and continue to pay attention to promoting bilateral economic and trade relations, including encouraging US high-tech enterprises to do business in Vietnam, increasing delegation exchanges and sharing experiences.

The Prime Minister also suggested that the two sides create breakthroughs in cooperation in science and technology, innovation, education and training; and at the same time further promote cooperation in combating climate change, green growth, and renewable energy development.

At the same time, the Prime Minister also hopes that the US will properly consider the interests of Vietnamese enterprises and not use trade defense measures against Vietnamese goods on the basis of ensuring balance, equality, and mutual benefit.
Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo said that American businesses are very interested in Vietnam to seek business and investment opportunities and believes that after completing negotiations on the Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF), businesses and investment funds will invest heavily in Vietnam.
Affirming the significance and importance of the two countries establishing a framework for a comprehensive strategic partnership, the US Secretary of Commerce said he would push for the US to soon recognize Vietnam's market economy status.
At the same time, coordinate to implement the contents agreed in the Joint Statement, especially in priority areas such as economy, trade and investment, etc., continuing to deepen, substantiate and effectively the cooperation between the two countries.

The two sides agreed that the establishment of a comprehensive strategic partnership framework between the two countries opens a new phase for extensive cooperation between the two countries, especially in the fields of economics, trade and investment.
Thanking the US Trade Representative for his contributions to the development of bilateral relations, the Prime Minister suggested that both sides actively coordinate to quickly realize the agreements of the two countries' senior leaders, including the US prioritizing the promotion of the roadmap for recognizing Vietnam's market economy status.

She affirmed that the US always considers Vietnam an important partner in the region and wishes to continue promoting bilateral economic and trade cooperation. The US Trade Representative will play a role in continuing to promote relations between the two countries in the coming time.
