The resolution states: Citizens of the following countries: Kingdom of Belgium, Republic of Bulgaria, Republic of Croatia, Czech Republic, Hungary, Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Kingdom of the Netherlands, Republic of Poland, Romania, Republic of Slovakia, Republic of Slovenia and Swiss Confederation when entering Vietnam for tourism purposes will be exempted from visa for a temporary stay of 45 days, regardless of passport type, on the basis of meeting all entry conditions as prescribed by Vietnamese law.
The visa exemption policy for citizens of the above countries entering Vietnam will be implemented from August 15 to August 14, 2028. Earlier this year, the Government also issued Resolution No. 11 on visa exemption under the Tourism Development Stimulus Program in 2025 for citizens of the Republic of Poland, the Czech Republic and the Swiss Confederation. This policy is about to expire from August 15.
Also related to visa policy, the Government recently issued Decree No. 221/2025 regulating temporary visa exemption for foreigners who are in special need of incentives to serve socio -economic development.
The National Tourism Administration assessed that the increasingly open and flexible visa policy is one of the important driving forces that has helped the Vietnamese tourism industry achieve many great achievements in recent times, continuously setting records in welcoming international visitors. This is the premise for the tourism industry to achieve the goal of welcoming 22-23 million foreign visitors this year, becoming one of the pillars bringing economic development into a new era./.
