According to The Verge , some new data from developer CD Projekt Red (CDPR) has shown the enviable growth of The Witcher series. The studio revealed that the game franchise has sold more than 75 million copies, with The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt alone selling more than 50 million copies.

These massive numbers have cemented CDPR’s franchise as one of the biggest video game franchises of all time. The Witcher 3 now ranks alongside hits like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Red Dead Redemption 2 , both of which have sold over 53 million copies and are among the best-selling games of all time.

Sales of The Witcher are expected to continue to rise going forward, as CDPR just released a next-gen update for The Witcher 3 in December 2022 and the studio has a slew of other Witcher games in development, including a remake of the first Witcher game, a new Witcher trilogy, and a spinoff codenamed 'Project Sirius'.

Netflix is ​​also betting big on The Witcher series , as the company has just renewed the Witcher TV series for a fifth season even though season 3 has yet to premiere.
