Professor Le Anh Vinh, Director of the Vietnam Institute of Educational Sciences (Ministry of Education and Training), said that AI plays an important role in reshaping the development thinking and educational strategy of each country. Managers and educators are the pioneers and key forces in implementing educational policies. In which, AI is considered a useful tool to develop students' capacity and qualities.

Accordingly, developing AI capabilities not only builds a creative learning environment but also helps students realize their own potential, contributing to the development of thinking, towards becoming global citizens in the future. Because AI has a comprehensive impact on the three main pillars of education, including: curriculum; teaching and learning process; assessment. This helps increase access to education, promote personalized education, enhance the spirit of self-study, innovation and improve teaching effectiveness, and create lifelong learning habits.

Experts attending the workshop said that, in the context of strong digital transformation, the explosion of AI has deeply affected all areas of life. Education is considered one of the most clearly affected industries, with both opportunities and challenges. Among them, the worrying issues are the possibility of increasing the digital divide (favorable for places with favorable infrastructure, internet, equipment and vice versa), AI ethics issues, data security, dependence on technology, accuracy and objectivity of content...

Regarding this issue, Master Do Duc Lan, Deputy Head of the Department of Science Management, Training and International Cooperation (Vietnam Institute of Educational Sciences) shared that, through a study in collaboration with UNICEF Vietnam in 2024, out of more than 11,000 students in 22 provinces and cities nationwide, the results showed that only more than 23% of students knew about AI information from school, the rest knew from books, newspapers, and social media.

Regarding the difficulties in using AI, students said that the top three problems were lack of knowledge and skills about AI, lack of equipment and technology, and lack of guidance from teachers. This shows that many schools do not have programs to support students in using AI in a systematic and planned manner.

Meanwhile, Dr. Nguyen Xuan Phong, Vice Principal of FPT University, CEO of FPT High School System (FPT Group), said that for the past 2 years, FPT Schools System has implemented programs on AI, robotics, steam according to international standards to teach students from grade 1. The positive results in recent times partly show that the ability to learn, absorb, and catch up with scientific and technological advances of Vietnamese youth and students is very strong.

In the coming years, it is predicted that society will develop rapidly in science and technology with greater diversity and complexity. However, if the education sector creates good conditions for students to cultivate and practice, we will have a very strong human resource in science and technology, completely able to stand shoulder to shoulder with other countries in the world.
