As previously announced, the friendly match between Vietnam and Hong Kong will take place at Lach Tray Stadium (Hai Phong).
Coach Troussier will have his debut match with the Vietnam national team at Lach Tray Stadium.
This is also the first time in 20 years that Lach Tray Stadium has hosted a match with the presence of the Vietnam national team.
Before that information, Hai Phong Club President, Mr. Van Tran Hoan, expressed his intention to open the door for free for spectators.
However, Mr. Hoan said that this still needs to be approved by the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF).
“I am really excited because it has been many years since the Vietnam team returned to the Port City. It is even more special because this is the debut match of the new head coach.
The audience will certainly be crowded that day. However, whether the stadium is full or not depends on many factors.
My opinion is to open the door for free to entertain people, but this is up to VFF to decide.
Working with VFF, I also hope VFF will sell tickets at the lowest possible price. If there is a shortage, the club will compensate," said Mr. Hoan.
Besides expressing his desire to open the stadium to welcome spectators for free, the Chairman of Hai Phong Club also affirmed that Lach Tray Stadium fully meets all requirements regarding facilities to organize matches of the Vietnam team.
“I commit that all infrastructure of Lach Tray stadium will ensure international competition standards, because I have been to many stadiums around the world and I affirm that Lach Tray will meet the strict FIFA criteria,” Mr. Hoan continued.
According to plan, on June 5, Coach Troussier and his team will gather again to prepare for the match against Hong Kong taking place on June 15.
