Quang Nam proposes to consider awarding the title of Meritorious Artisan

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism - the standing body of the council, a total of 41 applications for the title of People's Artist and Meritorious Artist have been received recently.

Through initial assessment, there were 13 cases that met the standards and were submitted to the council for consideration.

As a result, the council voted to approve the list of proposals to confer the title of People's Artist on 2 people and Meritorious Artist on 11 people.

Concluding the meeting, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Phan Thai Binh said that the council's viewpoint when considering awarding titles is "not to chase after quantity nor to miss out on any subjects".

"Along with submitting the documents and list of candidates for consideration of the titles by the Provincial People's Committee, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism will send a document requesting local authorities to give their opinions on the compliance with policies, laws and lifestyles of the 13 people proposed for consideration of the titles to ensure the criteria for consideration" - Mr. Phan Thai Binh directed.
