This is part of the “Qatar National Vision 2030” strategy, which focuses on innovation and sustainable development.

The project uses two BOD2 industrial printers, each 50m long and 15m high, capable of printing structures up to five stories high. The engineering team tested more than 100 real-world prints in the capital city of Doha, developing their own concrete mix and extrusion nozzles to cope with the harsh desert climate.

Each 3D-printed school has two floors, totaling more than 40,000 square meters, 40 times the size of the largest 3D-printed building ever recorded. The design of the wavy walls that mimic sand dunes was only possible with 3D printing technology, which cannot be efficiently achieved with traditional construction techniques.

The project is not only a symbol of futuristic architecture, but also lays the foundation for sustainability in education . 3D printing reduces material waste by up to 60%, saves energy and shortens construction time.

Qatar’s project shows how technology can reshape learning spaces, with education aiming to be smarter, greener and more flexible for the next generation. This also contributes to sustainable national development.
