After 2 hours of surgery with three small incisions creating a short surgical cavity located on the inside of the lower lip from 0.5-1cm, the surgeons were able to reach the tumor location.
During the surgery, the doctors performed a right lobe resection of the thyroid gland, central cervical lymph node dissection, preservation of the parathyroid gland, recurrent laryngeal nerve, took anatomical specimens, and sutured the prethyroid muscle and incision in the oral mucosa.
6 hours after surgery, the patient could move his mouth, eat normally with soft, easy-to-chew foods, without hoarseness or numbness in his limbs. After 5 days post-surgery, the patient recovered well, had no complications and was discharged from the hospital.
