Suoi Lu 3 School (Suoi Lu Kindergarten, Xa Dung Commune) was devastated after the flash flood. Located next to the river, when the flood swept through, it caused severe damage to the entire Suoi Lu 3 School, the cafeteria, toilets and 1 classroom were completely damaged, the surrounding fence system collapsed... The classroom was covered in mud, almost all the furniture was swept away by the flood. Nearly a week after local authorities, armed forces and teachers joined hands to clean up, the school is still covered in mud and has not returned to normal . At Pa Vat 1 school (Muong Luan commune), floods caused the collapse of 2 toilets, subsidence of 2 classrooms, washed away the embankment behind the classroom, and completely damaged the fence system and school gate... Damaged furniture lay scattered in front of the school gate. Teachers clean items that are not completely damaged for reuse. Currently, the school teachers are still working hard to clean up with the hope that the school can organize the opening ceremony of the new school year in time. Also in Muong Luan commune, heavy rain and floods caused Chieng So Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities to be submerged over 3 meters deep. Electronic equipment for teaching and learning was almost completely damaged. The tables and chairs were rotten due to being submerged in water. Students' books and school supplies are covered with mud. Many books, lesson plans, records and teachers' certificates were soaked in water and severely damaged. Mr. Nguyen Danh Hy, Principal of Chieng So Secondary School for Ethnic Minorities, hopes to receive the community's support with practical support so that teachers and students can enter the new school year smoothly.
