According to Osen , the song Golden - the soundtrack of the K-pop drama Demon Hunters made history when it continued to hold the No. 2 position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the second consecutive week.
Despite being released more than a month ago, Golden still maintains its appeal, recording 28.9 million streams in the latest tracking week, holding the title of the most-streamed song on the Hot 100 for five consecutive weeks.
Few people know that the person behind this "summer fever" is Teddy - a legendary K-pop music producer who created a series of global hits for 2NE1, BigBang and especially BlackPink.
Korea JoongAng Daily commented that through Golden , Teddy once again proved his ability to grasp international music trends, something that not many Korean producers can do.
The Producer Who Shaped K-pop
Teddy, whose real name is Park Hongun, is one of the most influential producers in K-pop today. For over a decade, his signature music has defined YG Entertainment and helped bring K-pop to a global audience.
Born in Seoul, Teddy moved to New York while still in high school. In 1997, he auditioned in Los Angeles with YG Entertainment founder Yang Hyun Suk. It was this meeting that shaped his musical career for the next 20 years.

In 1998, Teddy officially debuted as the leader of the boy band 1TYM, a pioneering hip hop group in Korea. Notably, the group's hits such as One Love (2000) and Hot (2003) were all composed by him.
What makes this talented music producer special is his willingness to experiment with music genres that no one else dares to do, or even thinks of.
Kwaejina Ching Ching released in 2000 is a song that perfectly captures that spirit.
This style was later recreated in BlackPink's 2022 hit Pink Venom , affirming their unmistakable musical personalities.
Many people even compare Teddy to Max Martin - the top hit-producing "machine" of Western pop music - because he is the "father" of a series of typical hits in the past decade with a unique mixed style.

YG Music Light Up
Teddy began to make his mark when he participated in the production of 1TYM's second album and YG Family's first projects. However, it was not until 2009, when 2NE1 officially debuted, that his name really exploded and was widely recognized in the Korean music industry.
YG Entertainment President Yang Hyun Suk once did not hesitate to call Teddy the "brain" behind 2NE1's success. From hits like Fire to I Am The Best , Teddy not only created a series of classic songs but was also the one who directly shaped the strong, individual and different style of this legendary girl group.

Not stopping there, Teddy also contributed greatly to the process of making BigBang a national music group and later the global "descendant" BlackPink.
Jisoo (BlackPink) once humorously shared: "Teddy is like the fifth member of the group", showing his special attachment and irreplaceable role to BlackPink.
In 2016, Teddy founded The Black Label. From a subsidiary of YG, The Black Label gradually became an independent brand, managing many potential artists such as Jeon Somi, Rosé (BlackPink), MEOVV and the mixed group Allday Project.

The Black Label is not only a "home" for developing young talent, but also a place where Teddy continues to experiment with new musical ideas.
According to Korea JoongAng Daily , with the success of the K-pop soundtrack Demon Hunters and the group Allday Project, Teddy is gradually proving his position as a "music wizard" who both honors K-pop identity and dares to innovate.
"It will take time to see if these groups can achieve the same success as previous K-pop groups, but such experiments are necessary for the music industry to move forward," said analyst Lee Hwa Jeong about Teddy's Allday Project.
