“The teacher always smiled and told me: “Cheo is not just singing, but Cheo is storytelling, Cheo is deep meaning... If you don't tell with your heart, no one will listen”. From that saying, I learned to sing with all my heart, learned every step of the scholar, the male lead, the clown, the clown, the drunkard, the single actor,... from the eyes of each character in Cheo. The teacher taught me a lot, the knowledge of ancient Cheo, is not just a performing art but a philosophy of life - the philosophy of loyalty, righteousness, filial piety, chastity, bravery and humanity”, People's Artist Tran Quoc Chiem recalled.
